Sojourness was born with the goal to bring affordable, sustainable, and accessible adventures to women. Expect to meet fellow travelers between the ages of 25-60 who value sharing in the privilege of travel with other like-minded ladies. Each experience is tailored to be an easy break from your daily hustle - we plan the logistics and highlights while you sprinkle in the experiences that make your adventure uniquely yours! We are passionate about creating safe, authentic opportunities that invoke the vibe of solo trekking with a sense of female community and connection.

We believe the best way to experience new places and cultures is to get your boots on the ground and start walking! So be prepared for some easy to moderate trekking, and to indulge in locally produced food and connect with locals along the way.
Supporting Local
As a women-run company, we also love to feature other female-owned businesses wherever we travel! Expect to visit some of these talented boss ladies during your adventure and admire their work.
We also feature locally owned and operated 3-4 star accommodations while abroad. These boutique selections are known for their comforting, cozy vibes, welcoming atmosphere, or eco-friendly practices.
We Focus On Responsible Travel
When we travel, we are guests in someone else's home, and we aim to leave a positive impact. We work to minimize any environmental or cultural disruptions while focusing on contributing economically to the local communities we visit. We can do this by:
- Seeking out hidden gems to experience the authentic essence of a destination, reflected in its people and their daily traditions. When visiting well-known areas, we aim to travel during off-peak or shoulder seasons to help avoid adding to overcrowding.
- Avoiding country counting or simply checking off sights we’ve seen. As guests, we immerse ourselves in the culture through its stories, flavors, and traditions.
- Collaborating with local guides and patronizing local accommodations and other small businesses in each destination to ensure we support the local economy while providing an authentic cultural experience.
- Prioritizing local and organic foods whenever possible to savor the region's flavors and culinary traditions.
- Providing pre-trip education to help travelers understand local customs, proper behavior, appropriate clothing, respectful photography, and the cultural values behind traditions.

Thank you for your interest in Sojourness! This venture to unite and support women across the globe was born from my own restless desire to constantly be moving and meeting new people from all walks of life (truly a sojourner at heart). I have always found joy and meaning in human connection (especially over food…like a pastry!) which is what led me to pursue hosting international group adventures and walking tours through my hometown of Portland, Maine.
Anywhere I’ve traveled I have found that the most transformative experience happens when you simply start walking. You’ll find grand adventure and cultural connection just by stepping out onto the beaten path - and if you’re brave enough to step off… well, that’s even more magical. To blaze new trails with new friends is what life is all about, and I am so excited to share these moments together. So, come walk with me!
