Its culinary scene is known for its passion for local ingredients, its embrace of small-batch artistry, and its dedication to crafting unforgettable flavors. This is the perfect brunch-time activity for a bachelorette party, for a girl's day out, or to simply connect with other women over pastries and coffee!
The East End is a neighborhood where old New England charm meets modern flair. As we stroll down from Munjoy Hill, we’ll wind our way through cobblestone streets into the Old Port, where historic brick buildings house some of the city’s most beloved bakeries, coffee shops, and boutiques. The Old Port’s lively atmosphere, with its working waterfront, independent shops, and hidden alleyways, captures the essence of Portland’s seafaring past while embracing a modern, foodie-forward culture.
Our tour features some of the city’s best-loved bakeries, where you’ll sample everything from buttery croissants and seasonal pastries to creative confections and locally roasted coffee. Your local guide, McKenzie, knows Portland’s streets — and sweets — inside and out, and will offer a unique insider’s perspective on the city’s best-kept culinary secrets. McKenzie has also worked for several years creating wedding cakes and dessert tables for hundreds of Maine couples, so she'll have plenty of baker's knowledge to share along your route.
You'll be making between 6-8 stops, so come hungry to indulge in a delicious adventure with like-minded women!
Tour Details
We recommend reserving your spot as early as possible, especially during peak-season summer months. Plans change? No problem — you can adjust your booking by contacting us with at least 48 hours’ notice. We also suggest scheduling your tour at the start of your visit so you’re able to return to your favorite stops and your guide’s recommendations throughout your stay in Portland.

Tips for your local guide are not included. If you enjoyed your tour and feel compelled to tip, between $15-25 per person is common.
You’ll be accompanied by your guide and up to 7 other women typically between the ages of 25-60 who enjoy a walking adventure!
Our tour will run rain, snow, or shine! Wear walking shoes and multiple layers (we will be walking along the waterfront). Be prepared for whatever the forecast has in store - it’s all part of the adventure!
We recommend parking in the paid lot at 75 Washington Ave in Portland. There is street parking, however, we would hate to have you risk overrunning the meter time. We will be meeting in front of Onggi Market at 131 Washington Ave at 10 am.
We will be ending the tour at 202 Federal Street in Portland - a 15 minute walk back to the parking lot. Feel free to walk back with your guide.
Gluten, eggs, and dairy are regularly served on these trips. No alternatives are provided. If you have a nut/tree nut allergy, please let us know and we can typically accommodate this if alerted in advance.

Our tours happen rain, shine, or snow. Therefore, all ticket sales are final and nonrefundable. Should you wish to reschedule to a different date, please contact us at least 48 hours prior to your trip day and we can make this happen depending on availability. If Sojourness cancels a tour for any reason, you are entitled to a full refund or may transfer your ticket to a new date. A 3% + .30 cent processing fee is built into the cost of your ticket, which is non-refundable in any circumstance.
