What & Where are the Cotswolds?

The Cotswolds are a range of hills in south-central England designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), attracting visitors with its scenic charm and quintessentially English countryside vibe. It spans from Bath in the South to Stratford Upon Avon in the North, and across to Oxford in the East. The word "Cotswold" derives from the Old English "cote" meaning sheep enclosure, and "wold" meaning hills.

How much walking will we be doing?

We will walk an average of 7-10 miles daily (3-5 hours depending on how long we stop to explore along the way). This tour is considered moderately challenging, making it ideal for those who enjoy walking and can manage occasional inclines. The terrain varies, with rolling hills and a few sections that require a bit more effort. Our highest elevation will be about 1200 feet.

How will I get to the meeting point?

The easiest way to reach the Cotswolds from London or other major cities is by taking a direct train from Paddington (in London) to our meeting point, Moreton-in-Marsh. London Paddington can be easily accessible from Heathrow Airport via the Heathrow Express. Your group will meet at the Moreton-in-Marsh train station on the morning of your start date, ensuring you arrive relaxed and ready for your journey.

Once you've booked with us, you'll receive a Prep Packet with further assistance. If driving is your preference, please reach out to us directly to confirm the best parking options for your tour. Our tour also ends in Moreton-in-Marsh, making it simple to hop the train back to London.
